Bio
Clement Chow is a Los Angeles-based cellist whose playing brings together old-world training, dramatic instinct, and a deeply expressive sound. His musical path has taken him from solo appearances with the Houston Symphony to principal and associate principal roles with the Riverside Philharmonic and Redlands Symphony, as well as performances with American Contemporary Ballet and orchestras in Berlin, Munich, and across the United States.
Classically trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Rice University, Clement has worked in some of the most respected musical environments in the world, including Aspen Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and chamber music festivals throughout Europe. He has studied with and performed for many of the great artists and ensembles of the classical tradition, including Lynn Harrell, Ralph Kirshbaum, Heinrich Schiff, the Tokyo String Quartet, the Amadeus String Quartet, and the Alban Berg String Quartet.
Whether on stage, in chamber settings, or in collaborative performance projects, Clement brings elegance, intensity, and emotional clarity to the cello. His playing is rooted in classical depth, but shaped by the energy and imagination of Los Angeles, a city where music, movement, theater, and cinema meet.
